A time-tested heirloom asparagus with tall, tender spears and excellent flavour. First introduced in the 1800s, this reliable variety produces thick green shoots with purplish tips, ideal for steaming, roasting, or adding fresh to spring dishes. Long-lived and productive, asparagus thrives in a sunny, well-drained spot and rewards patience with harvests for up to 20 years. Eventual height and spread 50cm. These are sold as crowns over the Autumn and Winter months.

A member of the sunflower family, this hardy perennial produces tall, cheerful yellow flowers in late summer and knobbly tubers underground that can be harvested from late autumn.
