A rare native umbellifer producing small, chestnut-flavoured tubers traditionally dug and eaten much like a nut. A quietly unusual addition to the forager's perennial vegetable patch.

How to look after Earth Chestnut (Bunium bulbocastanum)
Position & Light: Full sun to light shade.
Soil & Watering: Light, well-drained soil, ideally chalky or sandy, mimicking its natural grassland habitat. Minimal watering needed once established.
Harvesting: Tubers are ready to dig 2-3 years after sowing, once foliage has died back in summer.
Maintenance: Mark the planting position carefully - the foliage is unobtrusive and easily lost among grass.
Supplied bare root, carefully packed with a moisture source to ensure freshness.
Plant height: approximately 10cm.
Please remember that most plants (except Evergreens) are dormant in Autumn/Winter so your order may have no leaves until Spring.
